Welcome to Downtown Dry Goods, a fabric and sewing shop located in the charming, historic downtown of McKinney, Texas.
A quilt shop had been on my mind for decades and became a reality the summer of 2020. With an emphasis on traditional and reproduction fabrics, you’ll also find a variety of solids, prints, wovens, and blender fabrics. In addition, our growing selection of garment fabrics and notions hearkens back to both our history and the modern slow fashion movement.
A crafter’s dream, Downtown Dry Goods and McKinney Knittery share space in a 125-year-old building which gives a beautiful, expansive space for fabrics, notions, yarn, and accessories. It’s a marriage made in heaven!
Historic Downtown McKinney is a destination. Plan to stay and enjoy the shopping, restaurants, and events.
Let us show you some southern hospitality!

I remember playing under my Grandma’s quilting frame from a very young age, and sewing clothing on my mom’s sewing machine when I was still in single digits. Growing up Mennonite, it is part of my heritage. My mom instilled a love of handwork in me that continues to this day.
It is with great joy that I look to continue the tradition of fabric and sewing supplies in Downtown McKinney. Whether it is fine European linen for a garment designed by a modern indie pattern designer, or quilting cotton for a reproduction antique quilt, I hope to offer inspiration and the perfect fabric for your next project.
